Lead Montessori Teachers for Primary and Elementary grades. All lead teachers are Montessori-credentialed at their levels for completion of training programs recognized by AMS, AMI, or MACTE.
Classroom Assistants for Primary and Elementary levels must demonstrate a love of children. Experience working with children at the appropriate level is preferred. Montessori training is a plus but not required.
Middle School (7th and 8th Grade) Lead Teachers are trained and experienced in their specific subject areas. Familiarity with Montessori principles and philosophy is required, although Montessori certification is not. Middle school academic areas are math, science, history, world literature, and English grammar and composition.
Special Instructors teach music, physical education, Spanish, library skills, and art. Montessori certifications are not required in these areas.
Middle School English Opportunity
Primary Responsibilities: teaching of seventh and eighth grade literature, grammar, and composition; membership in a three-teacher team to develop and oversee all elements of Middle School community; theatre experience is a plus.
Characteristics of ideal candidate: love of children and learning; excellent written and spoken communication; teamwork and parent conferencing skills; the "heart of a teacher"
About The Montessori School of San Antonio: Founded in 1974 as The Judson School, The Montessori School of San Antonio serves almost 300 children from primary grades through middle school. The campus rests on 24 natural acres in North San Antonio. The School operates with a balanced budget and has recently experienced surges in enrollment.
