The Montessori School of San Antonio was founded in 1974 as The Judson School—A Montessori Workshop.

MSSA is located on the north side of San Antonio at the intersection of 1604 and Rogers Ranch Parkway.

MSSA serves 340 children ranging from P3 to 8th grade.

Primary through Upper Elementary ratios are two teachers to 24 students. Middle School provides one teacher per 12 students.

The school offers a lunch program, after school activities and sports, summer camp, and before and after school child care.

Beyond their core subjects, students receive instruction from specialists in music, physical education, Spanish, art, and library/research.

Parents are involved at MSSA on many levels, from the Parent Teacher Council through volunteering in the classroom, library, or gardens.

MSSA is accredited by the Independent School Association of the Southwest, and is a member of the American Montessori Society, the International Montessori Council, and the Texas Association of Nonpublic Schools.

Graduates of The Montessori School attend a variety of public, magnet, charter, and independent high schools.

“Our experience at MSSA during the past six years has been one of wonder and growth. We have seen our children grow and thrive in a Montessori environment and we have enjoyed being part of this warm and welcoming community.”

“We believe the greatest strengths of MSSA are its challenging academic curriculum, emphasis on grace and courtesy, and an environment that instills respect for others.”
