Welcome to The Montessori School of San Antonio

Where children are guided to be passionate learners, independent thinkers, and engaged citizens.

The Montessori School of San Antonio was founded as the Judson School – a Montessori Workshop in 1974. From there it has grown to include Primary, Elementary, and Middle School Montessori programs. The MSSA campus is a secure 24-acre parcel at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Rogers Ranch Parkway in far North-Central San Antonio with a surrounding environment designed specifically to meet the learning criteria set out by Dr. Maria Montessori.

As a parent, I can confidently say that I could not have chosen a better community for my children and our family unit. MSSA works hard to maintain a wonderful learning environment where grace and courtesy are always paramount. The education is challenging, yet manageable, and it allows students to have a very subtle transition when moving on to a higher grade-level."

Academics at MSSA

With an active and experiential learning environment, the academic program at The Montessori School of San Antonio lays the foundation for children to become lifelong learners. Smaller class sizes allow for accommodating individual students and their personal learning styles. MSSA values all student’s unique strengths and guides them to become strong community members.

✨Imagine a 5-year-old solving (a + b)^3. Some would say it is impossible, others might say the child is a genius. Now imagine that same 5-year-old using blocks that represent each term of the algebraic equation to create the cube.
✨The Binomial Cube may look like a puzzle, but it embodies algebra in action! Students build the cube layer by layer, cultivating spatial intelligence and logic.
✨In time, the child will grow a greater understanding of the meaning behind the pieces and how the puzzle connects to algebraic thinking. Mathematics in a Montessori classroom isnt memorizing facts; its internalizing complex ideas. #mssa #themontessorischoolofsanantonio #binomialcubemontessori #montessorischool #montessorimaterials

📖From show and tell to end‑of‑cycle projects, our middle school students were confident public speakers while presenting their character monologues and acrostic poems last week. After reading Animal Farm (8th grade), and Esperanza Rising (7th grade), they used their voices and props to bring the characters to life. They were confident and excited to share their work with their peers. 👏👏#mssa #themontessorischoolofsanantonio #publicspeaking
