🌿🌸 Over the past few weeks, our Lower Elementary classrooms have revitalized their patio areas. Parents joined their children in planting a variety of flowers, cacti, and herbs, transforming the outdoor space into a vibrant, engaging environment. This greenery not only enhances the areas beauty but also serves as a living classroom, where students learn the importance of nurturing plants and cultivating a love for nature. 🌿🌼🌺#mssa #themontessorischoolofsanantonio #outdoorclassroom

🔙Throwback Thursday!
In honor of this weeks environmental trips, were going all the way back to 1996, when Mr. Peter took the Upper Elementary students to Guadalupe Mountains National Park for 10 days. All campers made their own field guides, slept in tents, and planned and cooked their own meals. Over 10 years, the trip went from 10 days to 8 days, with destinations in West Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. #mssa #themontessorischoolofsanantonio #outdooreducation

Today, Upper Elementary participated in a whole group activity named No Relief. This activity was a simulation of the challenges refugees face when fleeing natural disasters, war, famine, and other crises in their home countries. The students, with limited information, sought medical care for malnourishment, dehydration, or fatigue, asked for help from FEMA, and endured the frustration of waiting in lines for aid, only to be turned away due to incomplete or incorrect forms, despite their best efforts to adapt to their new reality. #mssa # #themontessorischoolofsanantonio
