Middle School Science Teacher

The Montessori School of San Antonio seeks a full-time science instructor for the 2024-2025 school year to begin August 9, 2024. Successful candidates will have a passion for working with middle school students, as well as experience working with a collaborative team.
Required qualifications and experience include:
  • A commitment to MSSA’s mission
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years teaching experience
  • Experience with project-based learning
  • Experience teaching middle school science curriculum: physics, chemistry, biology, STEM
  • Understanding of developmental stages in adolescence
  • Ability to partner with parents
  • Ability to collaborate with a dedicated educational team
  • Understanding of and experience with SEL in a school setting
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Understanding of and experience with Montessori philosophy

The Montessori School of San Antonio seeks a full-time Spanish instructor for the 2024-2025 school year to begin August 9, 2024. Successful candidates will be experienced Spanish teachers who have a passion for working with children and will prioritize oral and written Spanish fluency while creating a language classroom that is engaging and student-centered.

Teaching Positions

The Montessori School encourages employment inquiries from talented teachers in these areas:

Lead Montessori Teachers for Primary and Elementary grades. All lead teachers must be Montessori-credentialed at their levels with preference for training programs recognized by AMS, AMI, or MACTE.

Classroom Assistants for Primary and Elementary levels must demonstrate a love of children. Experience working with children at the appropriate level is preferred. Montessori training is a plus but not required.

Middle School (7th and 8th Grade) Lead Teachers are trained and experienced in their specific subject areas. Familiarity with – and embracing of – Montessori principles and philosophy is required, although Montessori certification is not. Middle School academic areas include mathematics, science, history, world literature, and English grammar and composition.

Special Instructors teach music, physical education, Spanish, library skills, and art. Montessori certifications are not required in these areas.
