"Stay Home" Symptoms

If your child has any combination of the symptoms below that are consistent with COVID-19 they must stay home and contact Nurse Kimberly:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Muscle Pain
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Known contact with COVID-19 illness

Protocol

In the event your child has tested positive or exhibits symptoms for COVID-19, in order to return to school:

  • A child must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications
  • 5 calendar days must have passed since COVID-19 diagnosis
  • Symptoms have improved (cough, breathing, etc.)

In the event a child exhibits COVID-19 symptoms while at school:

  • The child will be separated from other children

  • Family will be notified

  • The child must be picked up within an hour

  • Children may return to campus once the above criteria for returning to school are met

In the event that your child has been exposed to COVID-19 they can return to school once the following has been met:

 

  • If unvaccinated- Child must quarantine for 5 days from date of exposure AND One COVID-19 test performed with a negative result

  • If vaccinated- may return to school and monitor for symptoms, with COVID-19 test on day 5 from exposure.
